ים עכשיו helps users view Israeli beach information such as beach flags, waves, weather, air quality, jellyfish references, and official safety links.

Information We Collect

The app may use your precise location while the app is open to find the nearest beach. Raw latitude and longitude are processed on your device and are not stored by ים עכשיו.

We do not use location for advertising or tracking.

The app stores simple preferences on your device, such as favorite beaches, selected language, theme, notification preferences, and recent flag-confirmation cooldowns.

Crowd Flag Confirmations

If you confirm whether a beach flag matches what you see, the app may send the selected beach, displayed flag, your yes/no confirmation, timestamp, an anonymous app-generated device ID, and a coarse near-beach confirmation to the backend.

It is not attached to your name, phone number, email, or account. The app does not automatically replace official flag information with user reports.

Third-Party Data Sources

The app may show information from backend-connected sources such as weather, marine forecasts, IQAir AirVisual air quality, Meduzot reference links, and Home Front Command reference links.

Official emergency and safety instructions should always be checked through official government sources. ים עכשיו does not replace official instructions.

Tracking

We do not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.
